PlayyOn Nation Spotlights Dalton Youth Athletic Association
The PlayyOn Nation Spotlight highlights some of our favorite sporting organizations. This time we’re speaking with Jason Boyer from the Dalton Youth Athletic Association (D.Y.A.A.) about their baseball and softball programs.
The D.Y.A.A. was started in 1995 in a fairly simple fashion. It was just a way to get kids local to Dalton to play baseball and softball. Since then it’s grown to more than 300 players, including more than a few players from the local Amish and Mennonite communities. Wide community participation not only grows their teams, but it also teaches all the kids of the Dalton area about the different cultures and communities living in the area. And ultimately, everyone makes new friends.
D.Y.A.A.’s starting mission was simple, and they keep it up to this day:
Offer great community sports competition while helping kids build upon the fundamentals of athletics, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
It was a simple vision from the start, but it just goes to show that if you concentrate on the basics of creating a great sports league, success will come.
Through these basics, D.Y.A.A. has been able to accomplish a much wider goal of bringing the community together. It’s a family oriented environment where parents coach and bring friends to watch the games. D.Y.A.A.’s programs literally bring people together to come to games each night.
D.Y.A.A. has become well known for their commitment to working with kids at all skill levels and helping them improve. They also want to create a good experience for players, parents and fans.
D.Y.A.A. started using PlayyOn as part of their efforts to ensure a good experience for their community. They want to make registration and payments easy with web landing pages for their overall club, for specific programs and for the teams. D.Y.A.A. noted that PlayyOn’s CRM and Communication Center makes it easy for the organizer to post messages to their web landing page, to emails and texts for their important announcements.
“PlayyOn has been really helpful. We’re a community organization with a lot of participants, and communication and scheduling can be tough. PlayyOn has made it easier.”
– Jason Boyer, D.Y.A.A.
D.Y.A.A is a shining example of a well run program that is offering and instilling a passion for the game of baseball and softball. PlayyOn is thrilled to hear that we’ve made things easier for them and we look forward to helping them keep things running smoothly for years to come.
